Curcuma longa

Source: Curcuma longa is cultivated in India.

Extraction: Turmeric essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the dried roots.

Aroma: Turmeric essential oil has a fresh, spicy, woody odour.

Fragrance note: Base.

Properties: Anti-oxidant, bactericidal and stimulant. Turmeric has a high concentration of minerals and vitamin C.

Uses: Massage, baths and vaporization.

Turmeric is especially good for hand and foot preparations.

Blends well with: Cistus, Clary Sage, Ginger and Ylang Ylang.

Caution: Always dilute Turmeric Essential Oil to 5% or less in a carrier oil before application to the skin.
