Extraction: Rosewood essential oil is extracted from the wood chippings by steam distillation.
Aroma: Rosewood essential oil has a rich, sweet, slightly spicy, floral scent.
Fragrance note: Base.
Properties: Rosewood essential oil has a rejuvenating tonic effect on the body. It has an uplifting and soothing aroma. It is antiseptic, bactericidal, deodorant and considered an aphrodisiac. It is very gentle and therefore excellent for sensitive skin. Its toning effect on the skin make it a good choice for mature skin.
Uses: Massage, baths, vaporization and may be added to base emollients.
Blends well with: Bergamot, Grapefruit, Lemon, Lime, Orange, Rose Geranium, Rose Maroc, Rose Otto and Tangerine.
Caution: Always dilute Rosewood essential oil to 5% or less in a carrier oil before application to the skin.
I ordered several oils from Abbey Essentials, including 25ml of Rosewood - my favourite AND the oil I'm being asked to review. However, I was sent sandlewood oil instead. I have raised the matter with AE and await a response.
