Extraction: Lemon Thyme is steam distilled from the fresh or dried leaves and flowering tips of the herb Thymus citriodorum.
Aroma: Lemon Thyme essential oil has a fresh, leather-like scent with a subdued lemon undertone. It has a more pleasant fragrance than ordinary Thyme.
Fragrance note: Middle to Top.
Properties: Lemon Thyme essential oil is antibacterial and antiseptic.
Uses: Massage, baths, vaporization and may be added to base emollients. Lemon Thyme Essential Oil may be used on the skin as it is gentler than ordinary Thyme. This oil has fewer irritants than common Thyme and less possibility of sensitisation. It is good as an athletic massage after sports activities. Useful when vapourised or in baths as a winter oil and when added to chest rubs.
Blends well with: Bergamot, Grapefruit, Lavender, Lemon, Pine and Rosemary.
Caution: Always dilute Lemon Thyme essential oil to less than 5% before application to skin.
