Geranium Essential Oil Pelargonium graveolens
Throughout history geranium has been known as a powerful wound healer. It has been utilized medicinally and in the fragrance industry.
Source: Pelargonium graveolens is grown in Madagascar, Egypt, Spain, France, Italy, Russia and in the Congo.
Extraction: Geranium essential oil is obtained by steam distillation from the fresh flowers, stalks and leaves of the perennial shrub.
Aroma: Geranium essential oil has a rosy-sweet, lemon and mint scent.
Fragrance note: Middle.
Properties: Geranium essential oil is mildly antiseptic and a good skin soother and toner. It both stimulates and centres oneâ€™s mood.
Uses: Massage, baths, vaporization and may be added to base emollients.
Blends well with: Bergamot, Chamomile, Clary Sage, Clove, Cypress, Ginger, Grapefruit, Jasmine, Juniper, Lemon, Mandarin, Neroli, Palmarosa, Patchouli, Peppermint, Rose, Rosemary, Sandalwood, Ylang Ylang.
Caution: Ensure proper dilution of Geranium essential oil. Avoid whilst pregnant.
