Source:Cinnamomum cassia is native to China and is grown extensively in south eastern Asia.
Extraction: Cassia essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the leaves of the evergreen tree.
Aroma: Cassia essential oil has a pungent, warm, spicy and stimulating scent.
Fragrance note: Middle.
Properties: Cassia essential oil is a tonic to revive the senses and support stomach function. It may be used to relieve symptoms of nausea and flatulence. The oil has antiseptic properties and can be used in massage to ease aching muscles and joints and to aid digestion.
Uses: Massage, baths and vaporization.
Blends well with: Black Pepper, Cardamom, Orange, Frankincense, and Ylang Ylang.
Caution: Cassia essential oil is toxic. It must be used with extreme caution. Always dilute to less than 5% before application to the skin. It may sensitize and irritate the skin and mucus membranes.
