Aroma: Galangal essential oil has a sharp, spicy, woody scent with a slight citrus note.
Fragrance note: Middle.
Properties: Galangal is closely related to Ginger and has similar properties and uses. It is carminative and stomachic. With massage it optimizes proper circulation and the pungent aroma can help to penetrate a cold.
Uses: Massage, baths, and vaporization.
Blends well with: Black Pepper, Cajaput, Cardamom, Cedarwood, Clove, Cypress, Frankincense, Geranium, Lemon, Lime, Mandarin, Patchouli and Rose Otto.
Caution: Always dilute Galangal essential oil to less than 5% before application to skin. It is non-toxic and non-irritant but with possible sensitization in some individuals.
